The Adair County SB40 Developmental Disability Board is now accepting applications for the  Summer Youth Program. Energetic, experienced, organized, person-centered, and team-oriented staff are needed to support adolescents who are 13-18 years of age and have intellectual/developmental disabilities. Applications will be accepted for the following positions:  Counselors, Nursing Staff, Life Skills Teacher, SB40 Community Learning Center Staff, and Van Driver/Substitute Counselor. These are all temporary summer positions. The Summer Youth Program will run daily, Monday - Friday, 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., June 3rd through August 2nd, with the week of July 1st - 5th off. All necessary training will be provided. Potential training dates will be May 28th  - 31st, 2019. Daily work hours for the SB40 Community Learning Center staff will be dependent upon the needs of the Center.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 18 years of age or older

  • Reliable transportation to work

  • Responsible

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong communication skills

  • Current Class E Chauffeur License - Van Driver

  • Current LPN or RN License - Nursing Staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities

  • Previous experience working with summer programs/camps

  • Some college education
